Childhood Memory

One of my favorite childhood memories is my grandparent’s year wedding anniversary. My mom, her brothers and sisters decided to celebrate their parent’s years of marriage. The wedding took place on January 2007 in Mexico. That day everyone was everywhere getting everything ready. My dad and I went to go get the flowers for the center piece early in the morning. After that my dad and uncles were getting the beer to the reception because they had dropped the beer off a day before at my grandpa’s house. It was a stressful busy day for us. My cousin and I went across the street to get our hair done. After the lady was done without hair we went back to my grandparents’ house to put on our dresses and shoes so we could start heading out to church. After church, we walked to the reception since it was just like 3 streets away. When we got to the reception it looked nice, tables were everywhere. People were getting the stage ready. You were able to see who the family, the daughters was and sons were in gold beige, sons in laws were in beige goldish too. The grand daughters were in long baby blue dresses and the grandsons in light baby blue shirts with a tied and black pants. People were arriving and all the tables were full. My mom, aunts, uncles and family were giving out the food; which was birria. It took a while for them to serve people their food. After most of the people finished eating, my uncles started to put the tables away and have everyone sit and move to the side. My mom, her sisters and uncles started dancing with my grandparents. After that the Banda arrived, went on stage and started playing their instruments. Everyone started dancing as soon as they started to play everyone was in a big circle, my aunts with their husbands, my mom and dad, my uncle with his wife and my 3 uncles were in the middle of the circle dancing with my granddad. It was a great night with all the family, from leaving California to being in the car 2-3 days, just to go celebrate my grandparent’s 50th anniversary, was definitely worth it.
